Follow a child’s academic updates
Use the Parent application to review authorized work, released grades, teacher-confirmed attendance, and notification choices for each linked child.

Before you start
- An active Parent account in an installation where your organization has enabled Parent access.
- At least one organization-verified relationship with one or more shared categories: released grades, work, or attendance.
You are done when
- The child and course selectors show the intended context before academic information appears.
- Grades remain withheld until course-wide release, and attendance identifies teacher-confirmed outcomes and corrections.
- Academic notification choices are saved separately for each child, category, and channel.
If something goes wrong
- Use Try again when a child section fails to load. If access changed, return home and select an available child or contact your organization.
- If Parent access is paused, child data and alerts remain unavailable while Account security stays available. Re-enabling access does not replay older alerts.
- If notification choices changed in another session, reload them before saving again.
Keep the child and course context visible
- Choose the child first, then the course and shared area. Every read rechecks the active relationship, granted category, and current course enrollment.
- Work shows published assignment or exam metadata and submission status. It does not expose draft responses, answer keys, group members, private feedback, accommodations, files, chats, recordings, or live rooms.
- Grades show only released course results. Ungraded work remains ungraded, and hiding the course gradebook withdraws Parent visibility as it does for the student.
Read official attendance and corrections
- Parent attendance comes from a teacher-finalized review, not raw conference time or missing telemetry. Unreviewed, canceled, excused, and not-required outcomes are not confirmed absences.
- A correction shows the current outcome and correction history. The instructor’s internal reason and other students’ attendance remain private.
- An attendance percentage in a released gradebook is a separate seconds-based grade and may differ from the official teacher-confirmed outcome.
Choose academic notifications per child
Open Academic notifications
Select the child, then choose In-app notification separately for Confirmed attendance, Released results, and Submissions. Every category starts off and affects only that child.
Enable Email copy only when eligible
Email copy requires the same category’s In-app notification, available organization email, and a verified contact email in Account settings. Email contains a generic link rather than grades, attendance details, or submitted work.
Confirm the saved choice
Wait for Notification choices saved before leaving. Turning a category off blocks new unclaimed delivery; messages already handed to email transport may still arrive.
