Join a live session

Use the Student application to enter a course conference, choose devices, participate, and recover when media connectivity changes.

Before you start

  • Student membership in the course that owns the session.
  • A current browser with microphone or camera permission when those devices are needed.
  • A session whose conference is live and available to join.

You are done when

  • The conference workspace shows your participant tile and connection state.
  • Leaving closes the conference workspace and releases active microphone and camera tracks.

If something goes wrong

  • Use the conference Retry action once when the connection fails or becomes unavailable.
  • If reconnecting does not resolve, leave the workspace, reopen the course session, and report the visible error with the session time and browser.

Join with the right devices

  1. Open Courses, choose the course, then open Sessions

    Select the scheduled session, confirm its title and time, and choose Join conference when the conference is live.

  2. Review browser permissions

    Allow microphone or camera access only when you intend to use them. You can enter with either device disabled.

  3. Confirm your preview

    Check the selected camera, microphone, display name, and course role before joining.

Use the conference controls

  • Mute or unmute the microphone and stop or start the camera from the persistent control bar.
  • Use hand raising and participant panels to coordinate without interrupting the active speaker.
  • Choose screen sharing only when the instructor or session policy permits it.
  • Leave the session when finished; closing the workspace also releases active media devices.

Recover from connection changes

  1. Read the connection state

    Mirket shows reconnecting, unavailable, and failed states with an explicit next action.

  2. Retry once from the session surface

    Use the offered retry action so the previous room is left before a new connection begins.

  3. Escalate persistent failures

    Record the session, time, browser, and visible error message for the facility operator.
