Before you start
- Student access to the course that owns the assignment or exam.
- A supported browser, a stable connection, and any required response files prepared locally.
- An assignment or exam whose availability state permits an attempt.
You are done when
- An assignment shows the submitted attempt and its recorded submission time.
- An exam leaves the active workspace and shows the attempt as submitted rather than in progress.
- Released results appear only after the instructor publishes or releases them.
If something goes wrong
- If Save draft or Submit reports an error, keep the page open, preserve local file copies, and use the offered retry action.
- If an exam reconnects, wait for the saved state indicator before continuing; report a persistent timer or submission mismatch immediately.
Before you begin
- Read the instructions, availability window, allowed attempt count, and attachment requirements.
- For timed work, confirm that your device clock and network connection are stable.
- Open only the exact assignment or exam you intend to complete; access rules and files are context-specific.
Submit work safely
Open Courses, choose the course, then open Assignments or Exams
Use the title, availability badge, due window, duration, and allowed-attempt count to confirm the exact item before entering work.
Compose the assignment response
Enter the required rich-text response or URL and choose Add files for each required attachment. Wait until uploads appear in the attempt before continuing.
Use Save draft while work is still editable
Save draft preserves the current response without committing it. Reopen the attempt and confirm the saved text, URL, and files before final submission.
Choose Submit immutable attempt when the work is final
Read the confirmation because a submitted attempt cannot be edited. After submission, verify the attempt status and recorded submission time.
For an exam, choose Open or Continue
Start only when ready for the displayed duration. Complete each question, watch the save state and timer, review unanswered items, then choose Submit attempt.
